So far, more than 13 million actions have been taken by Global Citizens, leading to $35 billion commitments being made by world leaders, which are set to affect 1.3 billion lives by 2030.

 

Position Overview

GC is seeking a passionate, creative, go-getter to be the custodian of Australia’s digital growth strategy and curate an exciting online community for Australian Global Citizens.

Based in our office in Richmond, you will work alongside campaigners and communicators in locations across the globe, including New York, Toronto and London.

As a member of the Australian team you will campaign to ensure Australia lives up to its potential as a leader on the global stage by investing in a strong foreign aid program and delivering a foreign policy agenda that sees Australia as a good global citizen.


Job Outline and Key Responsibilities

 

  • Write engaging and topical editorial content for www.globalcitizen.org
  • Create and edit videos and photo assets to be used on social media channels, at events and general promotional materials
  • Manage Australian social media engagements, including scheduling posts and creating timely assets
  • Manage 12-month supporter email strategy by drafting and sending emails to the Australian Global Citizen audience
  • Create actions for Australian campaigns that are engaging and interactive
  • Promote Australian events and create social engagement strategy in promoting events
  • Analyse and report on editorial content, email and social media data: be able to track what works, what doesn’t, and test out new ideas
  • Manage engagements with global citizens via social media platforms and email enquiries

 

 

Required Skills / Experience

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Video editing including relevant software (e.g. Adobe Premiere)
  • Excellent IT skills (experience of CMS, Google Drive, Microsoft Office)
  • Demonstrable interest in journalism, international development and social justice
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage various competing priorities
  • Ability to spot problems and solve them

  • Campaigning experience
  • Examples of published writing (e.g. blogs, student journalism)
  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Knowledge of social media scheduling and analytic software (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Sprinklr)
